Design, Cultivated
When I moved to New York in 2008, I quickly learned that the space I had become accustomed to in the Western United States was no longer a reasonable expectation. Moving into my 200-square-foot apartment, I tapped into creativity, persistence, and a strong eye for functional design to create a home that felt like me.
Nearly 20 years later, this approach guides our family home — a unique one-bedroom plus den loft conversion that me, my husband, our nine-year-old daughter, and our Cavapoo call home. We’ve watched friends move the suburbs or sink into debt search for more space. But we’re proof that there is another way. Thoughtful design can allow you to live comfortable, beautifully, and effortlessly in a small space, leaving more time, money, and energy to enjoy life.
